Young Superheroes are all around us!

We believe all children have superpowers, especially those who have had to endure significant hardships and are still able to put on a brave face.

We created the Young Superheroes for them.

Each character in our lineup is a patient of Darell Dolores Memorial Hospital – and is challenged in their own way – dealing with special needs, disability, or illness.

We hope that by sharing the stories of these Young Superheroes, we can inspire courage, bring joy, and of course, provide greater understanding for those who have similar struggles, and to better educate our community as a whole.

We believe education, imagination, and play are essential for healing.

Why Young Superheroes?

We use superheroes to show young patients that the battles they are fighting make them strong and special. The first superhero ever created was a response to its creators being bullied – in this spirit, our superheroes fight issues young patients face during their time in the medical system. Young people are meant to see themselves in our characters, to read one of our stories and recognize that what they’re going through is also being experienced by the Young Superheroes ™.
