Meet Kaihalo
Kaihalo is 14 years old, although he looks older. Kaihalo has a heart that is enlarged, one that got too big to work correctly. He often feels tired in his normal daily life. But when he is in the hospital, the team makes sure he gets the right treatment to make him feel better.
One day, Kaihalo might even have a heart from someone else put into his body to replace his own. Kaihalo is from Honolulu, Hawaii, where he has a big family with lots of siblings and cousins.
He loves to learn about his ancestors and looks forward to every family gathering. During luaus, Kaihalo feels a deep connection to the old stories told through the traditional hula dances. His family is Polynesian and has always lived on Hawaii. Kaihalo gives off the laid back vibes you might expect. He embodies the spirit of love and courage because he knows that love can overcome many problems. When he grows up, Kaihalo wants to be a teacher. Usually, you can find him spending time in nature, watching the ocean waves, surfing, or playing yo-yo. Although he is big and may appear intimidating at first, Kaihalo is the nicest kid
you will ever meet. He takes the time to talk to new patients and is always there for the other kids with a big hug or a corny joke to make them laugh. As the Superhero Mana, Kaihalo’s
hugs are very powerful; they can calm anyone down, even people who may be up to no good. He is strong and jumps at any opportunity to smash open a door, although he will definitely apologize later. Kaihalo is the heart at the center of the Young Superheroes. He always knows what the right thing to do is – and always does it.
